Representatives from KSU’s partner Thomas More University of Applied Sciences, Belgium, recently visited the Koyama Campus to strengthen ties between the institutes and expand on student mobility opportunities. The visitors included Stijn Coenen – General Manager, Hanne Govaers – Unit Manager Life Sciences & Chemistry, Wouter Lutin – Unit Manager Technology and Hilde Schrooten – Policy Advisor who were in Japan as part of a one week tour by the Belgium Economic Mission (BEM).

On December 8, the BEM held a signing ceremony in Osaka at which an MOU between Thomas More and KSU was renewed and four new student mobility agreements were signed. KSU was represented by Prof Hideaki Tsuge, Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences & Engineering and Prof. Noah McCormack, Director for the Center for International Programs.

The visit to KSU on December 9 included a tour of the Faculty of Life Sciences coordinated by Dean Tsuge, and a campus tour personally provided by President Akira Kurosaka. Active and productive collaboration is anticipated with Thomas More which shares with KSU the ideals of Musubiwaza – the sharing of knowledge between people and also between academia and society.
