国際交流会館防災訓練
4月6日、国際交流会館に居住している外国人留学生を対象に防災訓練が開催された。昨年から年に一度実施しているもので、当日は交換留学生54人、会館スタッフ、管理スタッフを含め総勢65人が参加し、本番さながらの訓練が行われた。
4階共用キッチンから出火したという想定で避難訓練があり、その後会館前庭で北消防署員の指導のもと、消火器訓練、天ぷら油火災の説明、AED（自動体外式除細動器）講習会が行われた。参加した交換留学生は初めての体験で戸惑いもあったが、日本での留学生活のスタートに際して貴重な経験となった。

Fire Drill at International House
On Apr. 6, a Fire Drill was held at the International House. Fire drills at the I House are now an annual event as a means to ensure the safety of the residents. 54 exchange students and I-House staff, a total of 65 people participated.
The drill supposed that there was a fire in the forth floor kitchen. All residents were evacuated to the front parking area. Following the instruction of fire fighters, everyone then practiced using fire extinguishers. Following this were demonstrations on what to do incase of a fire when deep fry cooking and the use of AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) devices. This was a fun but educational experience for foreign students, starting their new life in Japan.
