Positions Available One
Duties
  1. Daily management and operation of the Global Commons
  2. Providing English learning support for students  
  3. Planning and delivering English workshops for students, including providing in-class English learning support in coordination with academic courses 
  4. Supporting the training and development of Global Commons student volunteers
Required Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree or higher, or equivalent professional ability  
  • Relevant work experience  
  • Practical experience in English writing instruction or English language teaching  

*All are mandatory
*Applicants whose native language is not Japanese must be able to conduct daily conversations in Japanese.

【Employment Conditions】

Contract Period

April 2026 – March 2027
(The contract is renewable annually, up to the end of the fifth academic year.)

Working Days Monday to Friday(5 days per week)
Holidays Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, summer holiday, and Year End/New Year holidays
Working Hours 8:45 -16:45 (7 hours per day)
Break Time 1 hour

Work Location

Kyoto Sangyo University (No change is expected.)
Social Insurance Private School Mutual Aid Association (health insurance and pension), employment insurance, and workers’ compensation insurance
Transportation Expenses Commuting expenses are covered in principle based on a six-month commuter pass for eligible employees (one-way distance of 1 km or more).
Salary

¥253,000 per month
Includes a fixed life-planning allowance of ¥20,000
Additional dependent allowance available for eligible employees

Payment Date 21st of each month
Overtime In principle, none
Paid Annual Leave 10 days
Special Leave Available with pay
Summer Special Leave 5 days (paid / to be taken between July and September)
Additional Information
  • Opportunities are available for conversion to an indefinite-term contract and promotion to a permanent staff position.
  • A condolence and bereavement benefit system is provided.
  • A bonus is paid (equivalent to three months’ base salary for employees hired in April).
  • A retirement allowance is provided for employees who have worked continuously for two or more years.
  • Working days and hours may be occasionally be adjusted due to operational needs.
  • In accordance with a notice issued by the Director-General of the Higher Education Bureau, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT/September 29, 2023), Kyoto Sangyo University conducts checks on any past disciplinary actions related to sexual harassment or sexual violence.
