"Studying at KSU gave me the possibility to reunite with Kyoto, the city I had already visited and fallen in love with while I was an undergraduate student. I came back with the clear objective of improving my Japanese skills, and I have felt from the start that my ability was improving quite fast. Conversation is an important part of the language-learning journey, and finding chances to do so was not that difficult, especially because classes, seminars and events offer the perfect opportunity to talk and make friends with lots of people. If you are looking for something more exciting, the CIP offers lots of other activities which can help you enjoy and understand Japanese culture better. Thanks to them, I discovered there were many things I had missed on my first visit. As someone who grew up in the countryside, I also really appreciated the fact that the dormitory is in the southern mountain area of Kyoto: you can enjoy calm, quiet study sessions with your mates and admire the beautiful scenery while not being too far from the city. "I came to Kyoto because I was dreaming about Japan for a very long time, and I'm so happy I made the choice to come. Kyoto is quiet but so rich in culture. You can enjoy your life here participating in local festivals and rituals at the shrines, cycling (or just walking) next to Kamo River, going to the flea markets, Nishiki market and so on. You will love the traditional streets of the Gion district where you have a chance to see Geisha. Classes at KSU are interesting and, since the university is located above the city in a non-touristy rea, the view from campus is breathtaking. Living at the I-House is quiet and gives you a chance to make a lot of international friends and improve your language skills."
