Interfaculty Program in Entrepreneurship

Launching in April 2026

From idea to innovation—let’s shape the future with business.

Ways of living, working, learning, entertainment... Driven by technological innovation and other factors, we live in an age where everything is changing dramatically, and the future is no longer an extension of the past.
Society is looking for people who do not merely express opinions about the future but those who turn their thoughts and ideas into tangible businesses and create the future.
With a spirit of inquiry into the world and the future, we envision businesses that make society more exciting. The future will require people with an entrepreneurial spirit and attitude who break away from the past, act, and make things happen.

What is Entrepreneurship?

The 2030s will mark a time when we would have graduated from university and become active in society.
As we increasingly coexist with AI and robots, new social challenges may emerge in the shadows.
At this time, people will be expected to bring about innovation (various changes) with new ideas to realize a future society where everyone can experience happiness.
Entrepreneurship comprises the spirit and attitude that envision businesses that achieve these goals, enjoy effecting change, and act and challenge as a stakeholder in the development of society.

Entrepreneurship is not required only of those who start companies (entrepreneurs).

Educational Features

Unique to a single-site interdisciplinary education

Taking advantage of the benefits of being a “one-site comprehensive university” with all faculties located on one large campus, we have established the “Interdisciplinary Studies” consisting of the Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of Law, and School of Sociology. This aims to broaden the scope of students’ knowledge. Students will meet new people through learning that transcends the boundaries of faculties and interdisciplinary studies.

Self-developmental learning that keeps one up-to-date

Small class sizes allow students to learn intensively, and students will progress from being accompanied by faculty to “self-developing” with their peers. This education is based on “self-cultivation.” Students plan and take on challenges such as entering business contests and starting their businesses. By analyzing their successes and failures, students become aware of their shortcomings and develop a mindset to improve themselves continually.

Collaboration with society and industry that transcends local and global boundaries

Kyoto is home to companies that create new value, from traditional industries to cutting-edge technology. Leveraging our university’s network, we develop education through collaboration with society and industry, centered in Kyoto. Many courses offer inspiring opportunities to broaden students’ worldview by interacting with entrepreneurs and overseas businesses. By the time students graduate, they would have “met 100 entrepreneurs,” which is one of the educational goals.
