Content of work 1. To teach ten 90-minute classes per week in the Faculty of International Relations, including “Theory of Knowledge”, “International Relations Discussion”, and “English for Academic Purposes”.
2. Other administrative functions and duties as requested by the Faculty Dean.

Job type Full-time fixed-term contract lecturer position, from 20 September 2019~31 March 2023, renewable thereafter for two further three-year terms, dependent on satisfactory workplace evaluations.

Qualifications Candidates must concur with our university’s founding principles, and also meet the following conditions.
1. Master’s Degree or higher in a field related to International Relations, or research achievements at that level. Candidates with TESOL / TEFL / TESL qualifications will be preferred.
2. Native or near-native proficiency in English, with sufficient Japanese to handle administrative functions and duties in an appropriate manner.
3. Two or more years of experience teaching in Japan at the secondary or tertiary level.
4. Residence in Kyoto or nearby area upon appointment.

Treatment The annual salary will be 6,600,000 yen, plus transport expenses (determined according to university regulations).

  2. A copy of your most advanced degree.
  3. A copy of a publication, preferably a recent single-authored one.
  4. Two letters of recommendation, which must arrive by the end of the application period (20 May 2019). (Each letter must include the recommender’s name with his/her signature, academic status, affiliation, contact details and a statement of the person’s relationship to the applicant. At least one recommendation must come from an individual in Japan. The letters must be sealed by the recommenders).
