KSU Junior High School Welcomes International Students

To increase the amount of contact exchange students have with Kyoto people, and to enable KSU Junior High School students to meet with people from overseas, a half day of events was held on November 21st at the KSU Junior High School. To begin with JHS students warmly welcomed their visitors with applause as they entered the hall. From there JHS students introduced in English aspects of Japan, Kyoto and their school before interviewing exchange students in English. The next event entailed JHS students introducing games and other areas of interest of young Japanese. This was a great opportunity for everyone to have fun together, and for the young hosts to communicate with their visitors in a more relaxed environment. After this, exchange students were matched with groups of JHS students who had previously researched about the exchange studentfs country and presented what they had learnt. The last event of the day was lunch during which JHS students waited on the exchange students. Positive feedback about the day was received from both the JHS students and exchange students indicating its success thank you to the efforts in planning by the JHS teachers and superb effort by the JHS and exchange students.
