Exchange students dig in with kindergarten friends

5 exchange students participated in a sweet potato digging (imohori) excursion with Kyoto Sangyo University’s Sumire Kindergarten children on October 21. This was a rare opportunity for exchange students to visit a Japanese private kindergarten and experience kindergarten education in Japan. The exchange students additionally proved their worth by ‘digging in’ and helping the children discover what lay beneath. Exchange students who came to the potato digging are from Hong Kong, Taiwan, France and Canada.
Other events for exchange students this semester include a mochi party, autumn leaf watching and Christmas party organized by student groups as well as a debate contest organized by the Center for International Programs.
