Visit to Kurahashi Elementary School

As part of an annual event to promote international awareness to local elementary school students, 6 exchange students from KSU joined up with other exchange students in Kyoto and spent the day on October 31st at Kurahashi Elementary School in Maizuru, northern Kyoto.

The exchange students were firstly treated to a singing performance by the children, after which they introduced themselves in Japanese and their home language. Students then split into peers and visit classes to play games, sing songs, dance, do quizzes and eat lunch with the children. Events ended with a tea ceremony conducted by elementary school children in the tea ceremony club.

The day was extremely well organized by the teaching staff of Kurahashi Elementary and in conjunction with Kita Kinki Mirai an NPO with a mission to internationally promote northern Kyoto to the international community.
