中国・北京科技大学国際学院から担当者が訪問
6月3日に中国・北京科技大学から国際学院院長補佐・李青茂氏と国際事業部部長・寺田則子氏が来学。
北京科技大学は、1952年に創立され、工学を主に理学・法学・経済・外国語などの学部を持つ総合大学で、中国全土で初めて正式に大学院を設置した高等教育機関の一つでもある。また、優れた研究成果で数々の賞を受賞しており、工学系では中国でもトップクラスの大学である。
本学は、2002年に北京科技大学中日経済学院（ビジネス日本語学科・マーケッティング学科）と学生の編入学指定校について協定を締結し、2003年度から3年次編入の学生の受入れを行っている。
北京科技大学から本学との包括的学術交流協定締結の提案があり、今回の訪問となった。 包括交流協定締結に向けて、外国語学部中国語学科の矢放昭文先生、関光世先生、国際交流センター長と活発な意見交換が行われた。
北京科技大学との包括協定が締結すれば、短期語学実習を初め、将来的には交換留学へと留学の機会が拡大されるものと大いに期待される。

Visit by University of Science and Technology Beijing, China
On June 3, KSU had two guests from the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) - Mr. Lee Qing Mao (Deputy Director of School of International Study) and Ms. Noriko Terada (Director of International Program Development).
USTB was established in 1952, and is renowned for its courses in science. Undergraduate schools include those of Engineering, Science, Law, Economy and Foreign Languages. It was one of the first higher education institutions in China to be approved by the state as a graduate school. USTB is a top-class university and has received several awards for superior research results.
KSU agreed upon a cooperation agreement with USTB in 2002 and has accepted students from USTB since 2003. During this visit, Mr. Lee proposed an academic agreement between the two universities and talked with Professor Akifumi Yahanashi, Associate Professor Mitsuyo Seki and Professor Yoko Imai over the issues of such an agreement.
It is hoped that this visit will enhance ties and develop an exchange program in the future.
