Opening our campus to the world by expanding international exchange
History
Since its foundation, our university has been implementing international exchange programs in anticipation of the arrival of a global society. In order to nurture individuals who can take an active role on the international stage, the university positively encourages exchange between students as well as researchers.
The first step toward student exchange programs began in 1978 with Massey University, New Zealand. Since then we have been actively engaged in signing student exchange agreements with overseas universities, and today we have agreements with 25 universities in 14 countries and regions.
The Human Rights Center was established in April 1999 with the mission of promoting thoroughgoing education for the entire university community-faculty, students, and staff-covering human rights issues affecting today's society, such as discrimination and sexual harassment. In order to heighten awareness of human rights issues in the university community as a whole, the Center has as its goals the promotion of educational projects, examination of the educational curriculum, and elimination of human rights violations such as discrimination. The Center was established in April 1999, superseding the former Anti-Discrimination Committee and the Office of Anti-Discrimination Educational Materials.
The university is committed to eliminating all forms of discrimination and human rights violations more than ever before, and its efforts to achieve this goal are being conducted on an institution-wide basis.

The Health Center provides general health care services for students, faculty and staff members, including medical check-ups, medical consultation, and emergency aid. The Center also operates a clinic to treat patients with health insurance.
With its health-care and clinical services, the Center has performed effective services for students and faculty in maintenance and promotion of health, and in diagnosis and early discovery of illnesses.
Physicians and nurses are available at all times for health consultation. The Center is also actively involved in health education and preventive medicine.
