My academic specialty is the historical study of accountancy. I have focused on the accounting system of Dutch East India Company and the bookkeeping theory of the Netherlands in the 17th century. I would like to inquire about whether double entry bookkeeping was indispensable to company limited by shares. Moreover, I am concerned with the historical research on a Japanese accounting system, taking a socioeconomic background into consideration.
