Research Overview

My research interests include contact linguistics and bilingualism. Specifically, I’ve been focusing on code-switching, i.e. switching between two languages in the same conversation. I have made some databases of simultaneous bilinguals’ conversations.
The structure of code-switching is analyzed from the perspectives of the grammar, lexis, pragmatics, psycholinguistics and sociolinguistics. Myers-Scotton’s MLF model (2002), Muysken’s three-way typology (2000), Halliday's Systemic Functional Grammar (1994), and Wray’s formulaic language are used as main frameworks.
