The International House dormitory was established to enhance students' study and cross-cultural exchange experiences through sharing of accommodation and everyday life with fellow students from around the world. Various events are organised by students throughout the year including welcome and farewell parties, tanabata parties, Christmas parties, birthday parties, danceparties, a stall for the annual university festival, cooking classes and communal dinners. Students also participate in events run in conjunction with Kyoto City and other universities in the city. In recent years, groups have travelled to the Sapporo Ice Festival and other events around Japan during vacation times.

International House Facilities

The I house is a modern facility located just a few minutes walk from campus. On the ground floor there is a spacious lobby used for social events, a Japanese tatami room and PC rooms. On the 2nd to 4th floors are rooms, internet outlet points in communal areas, a laundry room, communal kitchens and dining rooms. Each room is equipped with a unit bathroom, kitchenette, closet, bed, study desk and chair, air-conditioning, sunny balcony and ample storage space.

A bond of two months rent will also be invoiced in the month of admission, which will be used to pay for rent in the students final two months in the I house.
Bedding is available for 920yen per month (Includes: sheets, pillow, pillow case, duvet, warm blanket)
*Family rooms are available for visiting professor, researchers and short-term language program participants.

Rooms

Single/Shared rooms are fitted with a unit bathroom, air-conditioning, telephone, kitchenette with mini refrigerator, single electric element, as well as a desk, study chair, single bed, closet and drawers for each student.

Family rooms are equipped with a unit bathroom, air-conditioning, telephone, clothes washing and drying machines, kitchen with large refrigerator, electric range, microwave oven, table, chairs, sofa, desk and study chair, two single beds, closets and drawers.
