- The three departments in the Faculty of Business Administration will recruit as one faculty, therefore students will not choose their department at the time of application. Departments are decided during the autumn semester of the students' first year based on their requests and conditions of enrollement. Students then enter their respective departments from the second year.
- The numbers of applicants are for the spring and autumn semesters combined.
- The Computer Science Department of the Faculty of Science and the Information Communication Department of the Faculty of Engineering will stop enrolling from 2008. For details regarding the commencement of classes for Computer Sciences from April 2008, please refer to the inside of the front cover.
Conditions of Application
- All international students applying must have successfully completed 12 years schooling abroad (including those scheduled for completion), or be considered by the university to have the same level of qualifications, and be at least 18 years of age by March 31, 2008. Those considered by the university to have the same level of qualifications includes those who have studied for up to three years in the Japanese education system during the 12 years studied in an overseas education system and who have graduated or plan to graduate from an overseas high school.
- Applicants will have taken the Japanese section of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) 2006 or 2007, administered by the Association of International Education, Japan. However, applicants to the Faculty of Engineering must take the Japanese section along with the chemistry or biology section.
Note
For international students wishing to study at the university, there is a special entrance examination in addition to the general entrance examination. When university commences in April, lectures will by and large be held in Japanese, therefore a competence in Japanese sufficient for understanding the lectures will be necessary.
Screening
Stage One: Initial Application
Decisions on eligibility for examination admission are based on submitted
documentation. Applicants considered eligible will be issued an examination
admission slip. The admission slip will be posted by express mail on
November 1, 2007 to the address shown on the application form. This
admission slip should be brought for Stage Two of screening.
For those residing overseas and accepted to take the examination, short-term
stay visa application forms, for a permit to sit the examination, will
also be issued.
Stage Two: Examination and Interview
Acceptance of admission to Kyoto Sangyo University will be based on a written entrance examination to be taken at this university (excluding the Faculties of Economics/Business Administration/Law), results of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) 2006 or 2007, an interview and submitted documents.

Faculty of Computer Science & Engineering (Scheduled to open at the end of September)
From April 2008, the Faculty of Science’s Computer Sciences Department
and the Faculty of Engineering’s Information Communication Department
are scheduled to amalgamate to establish a Faculty of Computer Science
& Engineering.
After final authorization, recruitment is scheduled to commence from
the International Student Admission Examination held in January 2008.
Information regarding the admission examination for the Faculty of Computer
Science & Engineering will be posted on the university Website as
soon as approval has been granted at the end of September. Application
forms will be available for downloading at that time.
