The Center of Research & Development for Cooperative Education offers a career support program in order to help create highly motivated individuals, vital if they are to form the core of our future society.

Self-discovery Report
The first step of our career education is to conduct an aptitude and competence test for all students during admission. The results of these tests help students analyze their interests in jobs, their personality and aptitude, and build up an effective study plan by gaining a deeper insight into themselves.

Nourishing individual strengths through self-awakening
KSU provides students with diverse opportunities to build up an individual self beginning with a 'self-awakening'. Under the philosophy of our education, which is 'producing individuals required by society', the Career Education not only provides useful skills but also aims to nurture a 'power as a human being' deep-rooted in students' individuality in order to help them realize their goals.

Promoting Japanese-style Cooperative Education
KSU has established a university initiated career education system under the cooperation of faculty members and university staff, which has evolved from a conventional internship system. 'On/Off Campus Fusion' is a Japanese-style Cooperative Education program which is a four-year self-capacity building course, through which students participate in an internship every year, and alternate their study on campus with practical work experience. Work experience in the real world cultivates strong work ethics in students, and creates awareness about required abilities and skills in the work place. Such awareness clarifies students' interest and helps them rediscover the importance of learning. The university is promoting a career-forming support education system with O/OCF at the core by an upward spiral effect generated in the program through to realization of students' ideal career goals. The program earned the government's GP grant in 2004.
Providing student 'back up' through practical extracurricular courses
What today's uncertain society requires, is individuals who recognize that they should open the way to the next generation and devote themselves to creating a new world. Since its foundation, our university has made every endeavor to help students discover and develop possibilities to realize their career goals by themselves, and to go out into the world with added value in line with the desires they carry with them. In addition, in order to support students' self-realization and future career goals, the university implements a 'school in university' where students can acquire skills and qualifications in a variety of extracurricular courses from skill-up courses to preparation courses for various qualification tests.
A support for prospective teachers
Students who earn the designated credits on a teacher training course, in addition to the credits required for graduation, are awarded the teaching license for junior high school and senior high school education. Additionally, the teaching license for elementary school can be acquired through correspondence education courses conducted in collaboration with Bukkyo University and Seitoku University. To support prospective teachers, we offer a preparation course for the Teacher Employment Examination, giving intensive guidance.
