2015 Intensive Japanese Language & Culture Program

A farewell reception was held for 12 students from the Chinese University of Hong Kong who took part in an Intensive Japanese Language & Culture Program at KSU between June2 and 18. The reception was held in Hannari Cafeteria, building 10 and was attended by the 12 CUHK students, Prof. Fujino – Director of the Center for International Programs, Japanese Language teacher – Shiomi Sensei and KSU conversation partners. Each of the CUHK students gave a personal greeting in Japanese and parting words were offered by Ms. Yamasaki, one of this year’s conversation partner’s leaders.

Although only a 3 week program, in addition to their Japanese language classes, CUHK students enjoyed a weekend tour to Maizuru, experienced Japanese culture through the cooperation of the KSU Tea Ceremony and Aikido clubs, took part in an IR seminar class, visited the KSU Junior / Senior High School, took weekend tours with their conversation partners to Uji and Gion and made their own Japanese fans.

At the reception, Shiomi Sensei awarded all the students with completion certificates. For the next week the students will travel around Japan with Prof. Sidney Cheung of CUHK before returning to Hong Kong filled with pleasant memories of Japan and their time at Kyoto Sangyo University.
