TO KNOW “LIFE SCIENCE” IS TO KNOW THE FUTURE

Advances of Life Sciences have brought vast expertise and information, such as the decoding of Human Genome, which is now essential for the integrated understanding of life sciences. Due to these expertise and information, expectations are increasing toward the technical development of medical cures to numerous unresolved or intractable diseases, conversion from resource depletion to sustainable resources and technological development of preventatives of human infectious diseases.

So as to respond to those social needs, KSU reorganized the existing Department of Bio technology in Faculty of Engineering, and established the Faculty of Life Sciences in April, 2010. This Faculty consolidates educational and research environments which create science and technology aimed at developing harmony between humans and nature and endeavors to contribute to society by producing talented individuals with advanced specialist knowledge, and technological and practical skills.

Department of Molecular Biosciences

This department approaches the mysteries of life at the molecular, cellular and individual levels to unravel the systemic and integrated mechanism of life activities.

Department of Bioresource and Environmental Sciences

The aim of this department is to reach a higher level of co-existence between humans and other living creatures and the effective utilization of limited but possible resources of plants and animals.

Department of Animal Medical Sciences

This department prepares for possible humankind crises by pursuing animal health and safety in an advantaged environment with leading domestic research facilities.
