EMPHASIZING 21ST CENTURY COMPUTER EDUCATION

Innovative Computer Education

Since its establishment in 1965, Kyoto Sangyo University has been a leading advocate of computer education.

The university's strong commitment in this area is shown by its purchase in 1967 of the second TOSBAC-3400 main frame computer produced by Toshiba Corporation. (The first TOSBAC-3400 was purchased by the Meteorological Agency.) In the years that followed, computer education was actively incorporated into the curricula of the newly established faculties of Business Administration, Law, and Foreign Languages.

Education at Kyoto Sangyo University is based on three key concepts: establishing true individuals within society, fostering persons who are truly international, and providing training in high-level specialized knowledge and skills.

Aside from the importance of computer literacy, computer education is offered from the perspective of research and solution finding.
