デイスカッション国際関係英語- 2010

“International Relations in English: Discussion” is a compulsory course for 3rd year students in the Department of International Relations. All students have studied English in the Intensive English Program for two years, and so are ready to study International Relations in English. In this course we study both the theory and the reality of International Relations in the early 21st century.
In the spring of 2010, we began by studying the changes in global international relations before then focusing on the region of North-east Asia. We used the following topics;

  1. Shifts in the Global Balance of Power,
  2. Changes in Empires through history,
  3. Nonpolarity versus multipolarity,
  4. North Korea,
  5. The Rise of China,
  6. Japan-China relations.

In class, all students gave PowerPoint presentations on one of the above topics. All students gave great presentations!
After these presentations, students discussed the questions and issues related to the topic in small groups and then we summarised together as a class.
Students- Good Work!
